'Heathers' at Theater

Earth Day observance
The county will mark Earth Day, Sunday, April 22, with a cele'bration at the county park from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. There will be games for children of all ages as well as music and fellowship. Animal Welfare League to meet
The Rappahannock Animal Welfare League will meet on Tuesday, April 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Washington fire hall. All members and interested persons are urged to attend.
'The Ties That Bind'
The public is invited to two performances of “The Ties That Bind,” an original drama based on the stories of grandparents of students in Rappahannock elementary and high school. The play will take place Saturday, May 5 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 6 at 2 p.m. in the Rappahannock County High School auditorium. Admission is $3.50 for adults and $2.50 for children. “The Ties That Bind” is the product of an artist-in-residence program funded in part by the Virginia Commission of the Arts. Playwright Catherine Kiley collaborated with teachers, students, parents, grandparents and artistic consultants to shape the drama. Students played a major role in contributing ideas.
Beginners Tai JiTaun
A new beginners Tai Ji Taun (Tai Chi Chuan) class will start Wednesday, May 2 at 6 p.m. Classes will last one hour and will be held at the Child Care and Learning Center. Fee is $25 per month. Call 636-3078 for more information.
