School will be among approximately 12 area high schools that will be vieing for a shot at the national finals of the Marine Corps Youth Physical Fitness Championships during the First Annual Tri-State Youth Physical Fitness Meet to be held at the Baltimore Marine Corps Reserve Center on April 18.
At Dover Downs, Delaware, Moody Aylor, Race Horse Trainer of Sperryville, wins 4 out of 5 starts, April 4 though April 7. That’s a good performance in any man’s tot book. W.L. “Moody” Aylor, Trainer for James W. Fletcher, E.B. Hudson, both of Rappahannock County, and Mrs. George A. Benlage of Luray, took 6 horses to the track 45 miles from Delaware, on March 30. It was a new track for him and for his horses. Lester Wayland, also of Rappahannock, an experienced horse man and former Whipper-In of the Warrenton Hunt, went as stable foreman and hot walker for this novice group.

The Bloodmobile has scheduled
a visit to Rappahannock County for Tuesday, April 22 at the Trinity Episcopal Church parish hall in Washington. Hours for donors will be 1 to 6:45 p.m. and blood donations are accepted from persons 18 through 65 years. The extended afternoon hours will enable many people who work out of the county to participate.
