The new section of the dual
lane highway, Route 211, at Amissville, will be open today, Thursday, to traffic. Area residents are reminded to be cautious leaving and entering driveways, using proper crossovers, etc.; in other words, change habits acquired during the road construction period. The speed limit on this section of highway will remain at 45 mph, for some work remains to be done and construction will continue in the area.
Beginning in May, the Rappahannock supervisors will hold their regular board meetings on the first Monday of the month rather than the first Thursday. Chairman E. P. Luke suggested the change as a means of reducing the time lag between action taken at the meetings and the report of decisons made by the supervisors which appears a week later in the Rappahannock News. The motion to change the meeting date, effective May 5, passed unanimously. Sessions will continue to begin at 10 a.m. in the courthouse at Washington.

Sidney Mank of Washington,
Va., has joined Sentry Realty Inc. as a sales associate at the Warrenton/New Baltimore office. Mr. Mank moved to Rappahannock County with his wife Dorothy in 1976 after retiring from the construction business which he formed in Florida in 1949. He is active in the Rappahannock Lions Club.
