“I’m looking forward to working here,” Mr. Peterson added. “I’d just like to help this bank continue to be the financially solid bank it has been for the past 90 years. ”
After the savings and loan crisis, he said, one of the frequent concerns of all bank customers is, “How safe is my money?” At Rappahannock National, Mr. Peterson said, “as far as financial strength, it is one of the strongest banks in the state. The board of directors is determined that it will be a solid institution — that the depositors’ money will be safe and secure.”
The bank, he said, is interested in hearing from its customers about how it can improve its services. “I realize that no one does everything right. If there are things that we can do to better serve the community — we would appreciate people lettinj us know.”
Rappahannock National Bank is located on Gay St. in Washington, across from the county courthouse. It is open from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday.
