RICHMOND — To assist Virginians with last minute tax questions, the Internal Revenue Service has extended the hours of its tollfree telephone lines Saturday, April 14 and Monday, April 16. People can call (800) 424-1040 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
Local IRS walk-in assistance offices will not have extended hours, however, on April 16 all those who are in the offices by 4:30 p.m. will be assisted, Mr. Petrie added.
