Conyers House hosts seminar

The Conyers House, Sandra and Norman Cartwright-Brown's country in at Slate Mills, will present a one-day seminar for prospective and new innkeepers, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9. The cost is $100 per person or $150 per couple and includes lunch and a "backstage" tour.

The 14th such seminar since 1987, the day is "a great way to see if the dream of owning and operating a bed-andbreakfast is viable," said Mrs. CartwrightBrown. She said guests usually admire the leisure with which the innkeeper and guests interact and are unaware of the effort that allows the innkeeper to enjoy the apparent leisure.

Subjects include advertising, staffing, insurance, licensing, brochures, image, ambiance and expectations.
