Clarence Wharton Clarence Lee Wharton, 48, of Amissville, died Tuesday, Jan. 21 at Fair Oaks Hospital, Fairfax. A native of Rappahannock County, he was the son of the late Walter and Sally Wharton. He was a carpenter for Giant Construction Co. and was a member of Amissville Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Stringfellow Wharton; a daughter, Shannon Wharton of Culpeper; a brother, Archie Wharton of New Jersey and two sisters, Rosie Wharton of Sperryville and Dorothy Southard of Castleton.
