Openings in choral society
The Culpeper-Piedmont Choral Society announces there are a few openings for tenors and basses who are familiar with reading four-part choral music. Rehearsals will resume 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3 in the Fellowship Hall of the Precious Blood Catholic Church, 401 N. Main St., Culpeper.
Music Director Lois Shanks has selected favorite classical and popular songs of the choral society’s past twenty-five years to Tie performed in its May concerts.
Those wishing to be considered for membership are asked to arrive by 7:15 p.m. on Feb. 3 to confer with Mrs. Shanks.

Seminar to be held
The Conyers House will present a one day seminar for prospective and new innkeepers from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9. In- ] eluding lunch and a “backstage tour” the cost is $100 per person or $150 per couple.
This is the 14 such seminar given since 1987. “It is a great way to see if the dream of owning and operating a B&B is viable,” said Sandra Cartwright-Brown, one of the speakers. Guests usually admire the leisure with which the innkeeper and guests interact and are unaware of the effort which allows the innkeeper to enjoy the apparent “leisure.”
Subjects discussed will include advertising, staffing, insurance, licensing, brochures, image, ambiance and expectations.

Antique show planned
The Culpeper Extension Homemakers’s Council has set Ute weekend of May 16 and 17 for their second annual antique show. The show will be held at-the Culpeper Agriculture Enterprise Grounds, Route 29 South, Culpeper. Spaces are available for dealers on a first come base.
