school,” a current activity of the young club. “In addition to the bam and meeting areas, I have a ring with show fences and have access to both my farm and the neighboring place to build the cross country courses,” she said.

“The wealth of knowledge we and our other instructors can offer, plus this beautiful facility, are combining to make the pony club take off,” said Mrs. Corbin. “We know there are many top-level riders in this area who will give clinics and help teaching the members.”

Mrs. de Wit is equally certain of the strong base of support for the fledgling club. “Here we can offer a broad spectrum of riding events—something to appeal to everyone.

“Right now we are concentrating on our fundraiser and getting the word out to the local population,” she continued. “The ground school is preparation for the know-down and for our first up-ranking session this spring.”

“Our emphasis is on covering a range of sports . . . every part of riding. Fun is the key word in the USPC and in the Old Rag Mountain Pony Club.”
