You find

the glitch

To the Editor:

In last Thursday’s News a grammatical glitch crept into my letter expressing heartfelt thanks to the four volunteer fire companies from Washington, Sperryville, Flint Hill, and Castleton which, at 2:30 a.m. of a 20 degree morning, responded to my agonized call for help to put out a brush fire that was advancing toward us with a stiff breeze behind it to increase its powerful potential to devastate our lives. I wish I could give a prize to any high schooler (or lower) who discovered the error. It would ease my conscience. After all, I did teach grammar and feel it’s too important to ignore.
