Guidance counsellor Joyce Brown told the School Board that pregnancy is an increasing problem for high school students.

At the School Board’s regular monthly meeting last week she brought information on known pregnancies and said that she assumed there were other pregnancies that never came to her attention.

Mrs. Brown said that in the 198990 school year she knew of one pregnancy that was terminated by an abortion. In 1990-91 she said she knew of four abortions and one live birth. In 1991-92 she said she knew of one abortion and four live births, but there were additional pregnancies by the end of the school year.
