to hurt the country. “He decided that putting the election into the House of Representatives would do more damage than good," he said. “What he did was good, even if he got in and decided he couldn’t stand it,” he added. “A lot of good was done by having this grass roots effort.”
He said that some of Mr. Perot’s supporters have told him they will now “stay home on election day. I don’t think I will vote for Clinton, and I’m still pretty upset with Bush. I haven’t decided,” he said. He noted that Mr. Perot’s name will still be on the ballot for those who want to cast “a protest vote.”
