for conservation :

practices July 31

Sign up now through July 31 for a; long term agreement for conservation practices to be carried out over a period of three to five years. Requests must be made in the ASCS office by July 31 and before a practice is started.

Practices offered are: Establishing or improving permanent vegetative cover, strip cropping systems, diversions, grazing land protection, cropland protective cover, critical area cover, livestock watering facilities, sod waterways, planting forest trees, and animal waste facilities.

Long term agreements are binding contracts based on plans developed by the Soil Conservation Service and approved by the County ASC Committee. If your farm is in need of more than one conservation practice, consider this option. Cost shares are paid at 75 percent on approved practices.
