To the Editor:
The Rappahannock Convalescent Aid Loan Closet wishes to thank all who contributed to our organization by buying either our home-baked goods and/or a raffle ticket on the 4th of July.
It is our one fundraiser of the year and the proceeds enable us to replace or buy a needed item. The community gets back what it contributes when a family in need of help calls for a hospital bed or wheelchair or other convalescent aid. We do not charge for anything we loan. Without community input we could not function.
We also wish to say how grateful we are for the many times the Lions Club has responded to our requests for help with heavy items to be delivered or to work in our building. In particular, Mike Mahoney, Roger Andrews, J.R. Goolsby, Dick Markham and Bob Anderson are always ready with a helping hand.
