Breakthrough Summer ended Friday with an assembly in the high school auditorium. All participants received certificants and many received plaques.
The students, teaching staff and student staff were all wearing their new T-shirts designed by the students at the local computer camp. Parents as invited guests were shown a slide show of their children’s computer generated art work and later had an opportunity to visit the classrooms and watch their children show what they have learned to do.
In closing Helen LaCava presented a final plaque to Brion Patterson, the high school chemistry and physics teacher, who received the grant, named to honor astronaut Christa McAuliffe, that funded the Bummer program. ‘This is for the
