Miller works

to redistrict

Rappahannock

Sen. Kevin Miller has started the process to have all of Rappahannock County combined into his senatorial district. , Following the last redistricting, Stone wall'Hawthom District in the southwest corner of the county was put in Sen. Ed Robb’s 25th Senatorial 'District. Both Robb and Miller have agreed to consolidate Rappahannock County into the 26th District represented by Miller.

The change will make Sen. Miller’s district slightly larger than ideal as 700 voters will be affected by the change. Both Sen. Miller and Sen. Robb have discussed the change on visits to the county and have heard no objections.

In order to change the district lines, Sen. Miller has asked Legislative Services, part of the staff of the General Assembly, to prepare an amendment to any appropriate bill.

With 3,700 bills in the hopper, it shouldn’t be difficult to find such a bill.
