upper elementary classrooms of 735 square feet. However there is an exception. The recommendations state:

“If the school division is positive that enrollment will remain substantially less than the allowed maximum, the room size may be proportionally reduced to not less than the following minimums:

630 square feet for the educable mentally retarded;

900 plus square feet for the trainable mentally retarded;

550 square feet for the emotionally disturbed;

550 square feet for the learning disabled;

600 square feet for preschool handicapped.

There do not seem to be standards for special education classrooms for special education students who use the classrooms as resources (for less than half of the school day)
