bought an imprinter for $1,400. They are still learning how to use it, but they got a good deal on paper cocktail napkins in several colors an<f have learned to print them for weddings and other special events. They have also experimented with making notepads. Mrs. Logan said they hope to also be able to print graduation announcements.
Mrs. Logan also arranged to borrow a button maker from Warren County, and the students have learned to make buttons. Those promoting football teams have been the best sellers. Now that the Redskins are out of the playoffs. Cowboys and Bills buttons are selling at $1.00 each.
What they need most now is customers for the printing business. They would like to get some add-on features for the imprinter and purchase their own button maker.
The students are mentally handicapped, learning disabled and emotionally disturbed. They come from two classrooms. The learning disabled and emotionally disturbed are Mr. Tupper’s students; Mrs. Logan teaches the mentally handicapped students.
They are not candidates for the regular high school diploma. They are following individual educational programs and may remain in school until they are 22. Some will leave, earlier. Mr. Tupper also works with; less disabled students who are work-; ing towards regular diplomas.
At a the School Board meeting earlier this month they gave the board members buttons and baked goods they had made.
