Students at Rappahannock Elementary and at Rappahannock High School are busy getting their science projects ready for the Rappahannock Science Fair, which will run Feb. 17 to 19. The public is invited to visit the Science Fair on Wednesday, Feb. 17 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., or during Thursday, Feb. 18.
Students are investigating all kinds of topics. For example, you coffee drinkers may think twice after taking one look at Adam Haase’s mice! He is concluding his investigation on the effects of caffeine, out of concern for his rodents.

Jennifer Woodard is determining which type of firewood is the best heating source, while Kirk Jenkins is measuring how easily the different woods split. Other projects investigate T shirt dyes, ESP. and how different soil types are vulnerable to erosion.
