They then split us up into two rooms so we could have some space to eat. In the room and Ms. Whitford ate in, there were army officers taking turns guarding Kenny Loggins’ guitars.
We got full, and so did the room. In a short while, the room was very hot, and the early morning wake up call was starting to get to me, so it would have been very easy to become irritable. Tucker listened to a Walkman and read the Guitar Buyer’s Guide to keep busy.
We soon got a call to be ready in the small room with our saxes in about 15'minutes. “Yeah right! Two hundred saxes, all trying to get in their cases at the same time, and they want us to get ready in 15 minutes!” But amazingly enough we did it.
After we were tuned, we had to run outside in the cold to the front entrance, and keep running to the metal detectors, and then blow our horns to blow' out any concealed weapon, and then keep running to the area behind the Concert Hall, where we ended up waiting for about 40 minutes, sitting on the floor, before we actually started the show.
