Of course, in any year the average would have been dropped by taking out the two most expensive houses, but 1992 was the first year any houses were listed as costing more than $500,000 to build.
Building permits were issued for 125 additions and alterations to residential construction last year. This was fewer than the 147 issued in 1991 but more than the 70 issued in 1990. Records for earlier years are not complete.
