By CINDY MAHAN Rappahannock News Staff W riter Less than one week into the new school year, a student was caught with a knife at the high school. According to Sheriff John Henry Woodward, last Friday morning a knife was found on a student. He said that the school is handling the prob-. lem in-house. Assistant superintendent Mary Ann Biggs said a student had a “jack knife” in his pocket. Because that is considered a violation of the school’s policy on weapons, the student has received a long-term suspension, she said. A minor accident took place Tuesday afternoon involving a school bus. Mrs. Biggs reported that the driver was attempting to turn onto U.S. 522 north in Flint Hill from Route 729 when it was hit by a car trying to pass and make the same turn. The only child in the bus belonged to the driver. No one was injured, and a substitute bus will be used until that bus can be checked out, Mrs. Biggs said.
