To the Editor:
The Washington Volunteer Fire Department (WVFD) wishes to express appreciation and thanks to John and Bernard Campagne, owners of the Bleu Rock Inn for permitting WVFD to install a “Dry Hydrant” in their lake.
This will enable WVFD and other county fire companies to refill fire trucks without going to the nearest hydrant approximately 2 1/2 miles away in Washington. This is especially significant because of the high school and elementary school and business activities nearby.
