The record eight foreign exchange students who are attending Rappahannock County High School this year and staying with county .families should add a lot to the school’s sports scene.
The students come to the county under the auspices of Youth for Understanding, which also sends American students on exchange stays abroad for a year, half year or summer.
Santiago Mosquara of Popayan, Colombia, is staying with Sharon and Peter Luke, Christina and Ben at their horfie in the F.T. Valley. He is interested in mountain biking. He is running with the cross country team and plans to run track in the spring.
Kenji Iwasa of Ishiicho, Myozaigun, Japan, is staying with Bobby and Sheila Watson and Nile and Sky at their Woodville home. He is interested in soccer, plans to play with a club soccer team this fall and play with the high school team in spring.
