Shirley Smoot McCloud, 46, of Huntly, has been charged with manufacturing a controlled substance, marijuana. Last week it was reported that an anonymous phone call to the Sheriff’s Office led them to discover a patch of four 5-foot tall plants. Ms. McCloud lives on Route 630.
James O. Jenkins, 43, of Boston, was arrested last Saturday evening for being drunk in public at a party on Route 622 in Woodville.
Pratt on UNITAS
Deployment
Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Andrew K. Pratt, a 1989 graduate of RCHS has departed on a six-month South American deployment aboard USS Comte De Grasse, the flagship for the commander of the U.S. South Atlantic Force.
Pratt is one of 382 sailors aboard the ship who departed Norfolk in June to participate in the UNITAS ‘95, a multinational exercise which begins off the coast of Puerto Rico and continues around South America. UNITAS is the Latin word for unity. Pratt’s ship is one of five U.S. ships participating in the exercise.
Pratt and fellow shipmates will conduct at-sea, amphibious and inport exercises with naval forces from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.
Pratt’s ship will travel completely around South America in a counter clockwise direction after traveling through the Panama Canal.
