The county will try to purchase 27 acres behind the high school and along the Rock Mills Road, Route 622, for a centralized site for trash collection and leaving recyclables. The property could also be used to provide more playing field space at the high school.
Following aa executive session at their meeting last Wednesday, the Board of Supervisors voted to authorize County Administrator John McCarthy apd County Attorney Peter Luke to negotiate with the Bryant A. Fletcher estate to purchase a 10-acre parcel directly behind the high school and with Rosemary and William Anderson to purchase about 17 acres along Route 622 that adjoins the Fletcher property.
