He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Grace Bible Church and Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge 1283 in Winchester.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Robinson Shifflett; stepmother, Lena Shifflett of Winchester; two daughters, Linda Byers of Winchester and Wanda Stokes of Gore; a son, Fredd Shifflett of Winchester; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
He is also survived by two sisters, Julia Palmer of Gerrardstown, W.Va. and Ruby Harden of Clearbrook; a brother, Ray Shifflett of Winchester and several half brothers and half sister.
Pallbearers were Elwood Shifflett, Earl Fiddler, Tony Oates, Vince Mason, Aubrey Waters and Ben Crisman.
