The shop opened about a year ago and has been very popular, with parents finding about it mostly by word of mouth. When they see something they really like, many parents will buy their kids clothing a season ahead, or buy clothes which their children will fit into next year. It is a good way to pick up clothing that is really reasonably priced too. Clothes left over after the 50 cent sale either go back to the owners or to a charity.
The selection is extensive, with all of the clothes on hangers and separated by size, so it is easy to shop. Last Friday there were plenty of Oshkosh clothes, including overalls and little girl's skirts in corduroy and denim.
Mrs. Vierling is always on the lookout for more boys' clothes to sell. "They take the knees right out of things," she said. Consignment clothing comes from people locally and from Manassas, Middleburg, and even West Virginia.
She said that a lot of people are using consignment shops nowadays, both as a place to sell and as a place to buy.
