what it takes to get WCDS on the front page of the Rappahannock paper — only if an unfavorable and misleading comparison can be made to the public schools. Come on. Where's your sense of fair play?
I think it's great that Rappahannock's SAT scores were higher last year, but the "Tops in the Area"? Can't say that part of the headline is accurate. I'm sure Huntly is in the county. Be consistent. Since the second part of the headline does include WCDS, and their combined score was both the highest in the region's schools cited and higher by almost 100 points than RCHS, I'm proud both of my county’s schools. Looking at those front page statistics, we've got the number one and the number two school in the region.
Maybe the next time I see WCDS's name so prominently featured on the front page, it will be about the fact that over two-thirds of last year's 7th grade class qualified for the John Hopkins Young Talent Search, which requires a score in the top 5 percent in the nation.-And yep, my daughter was one, and almost half of those kids live in Rappahannock. Or one of the other many honors garnered by our "other" school.
