Board member Bryant Lee said the new policy is working because absences are down dramatically compared to last year.
- Dr. Gangel reported that roofs at both schools are leaking including the roof over the new section of the elementary School.
He reported that enrollment was 1,046 at the end of 10 days compared to 1,047 in 1995.
Sixth grade teachers reported on the steps they are taking to improve results on the Literacy Passport Test.
Dr. Gangel said the school system should also consider making up missed snow days on Saturdays and developing a policy for alternate bus routes on hard surfaced roads only. He said that most days have been made up after testing is completed, and to improve test results the schools need to consider getting in more school days before the tests are given.
The board members asked Dr. Gangel to bring them a clearer dress code, especially for the high school.
