1997 Budget

Only Chairman Eugene Leggett and members Charles K. "Pete" Estes and Daniel Keyser were present.
Income is estimated at $87,633 based on three months at a rate of $21.50 per EDU (equivalent of a dwelling unit) | and nine months at die recently adopted higher rate of $28.50.
The board agreed to give plant operators a 4 percent, raise effective Oct. 1, when the higher rate went into effect and give the bookeeper a $25 per month increase effective the same date.
This budget is expected to produce a surplus which will be added to reserves to prepare for the date when major plant equipment or components must be replaced. It will also cover the cost of borrowing for the surge tank which is being installed to handle some of the extra water that flows though the plant whenever there are heavy rains. ■ * Without the rate increase the WSA would have been L operating at a deficit even without the raises or debt service.
