Delegates for the State Conference in Norfolk in March 1997 were elected. Delegate is Mrs. Edward I. Barton with the four alternates in order being Mrs. Albert J. Lambert, Mrs. Carl D. Longley, Mrs. Thomas L. Eastham, and Mrs. Dan Shackelford. Delegates for the Continental Congress in April 1997 were elected to be Ms. Carolyn Butler with the four alternates in order being, Mrs. Edgar F. Puryear, Mrs. Dale J. Metzinger, Mrs. George W. Byson, and Mrs. Dan Shackelford.

On Nov. 19, markings on the graves for four deceased DAR members will be observed, three in Culpeper and one in Madison. Members will meet at 10 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Culpeper.

The annual DAR-SAR Christmas banquet will be Dec. 6, with reservations with Mrs. James A. Weaver by Nov. 29.
