Even though most , of us have too much to do and too little free time during the holidays, try to think of tree shopping and trimming as a fun family outing and not just one more daunting task to be completed. Fresh or artificial? The debate rages on in many households. Our preferences seem to be formed by dear childhood memories of searching for the perfect evergreen — or frightening flashbacks of the unholy mess they can leave behind. It's no secret that opting for an artificial tree is more convenient, less messy and more economical over the long run. And these days you don't have to sacrifice good looks. A high-end quality tree looks almost as real as those from the great outdoors — complete with cute little pine cones. For others, however, the trip to the tree lot is part of the holiday experience and no amount of convenience can replace the good feelings inspired by the heady aroma of a fresh-cut tree.
