barbeque was so popular that Mrs. Cornish has decided to add it to the menu permanently. A soup of the day is also offered, and she makes all her own soup stocks.
The regular menu items are all Mrs. Cornish's recipes, except for the curried turkey, which was so well-liked by customers that she kept Mrs. Zinn-Day's recipe for that one.
Mrs. Cornish loves coffee, and so she opens the deli at 8 a.m. so she can serve coffee along with fresh muffins, bagels and croissants. She also loves baking, and plans to have a selection of Christmas goodies for sale soon, including yule logs, special breads, pies and other treats. She does all of her own baking, except for some muffins which her husband Dan makes.
Mrs. Cornish plans to add plenty of deli items to have for sale — meats and cheeses, and party platters, which she plans to have all the time.
All of the food is take-out, but there are a couple of picnic tables with benches right outside the entrance, weather permitting.
The deli, located in the basement of the Clopton House on Main Street, is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. For Thanksgiving vacation, though, it will be closed this Thursday and Friday. The phone number is 675-6247.
