Amissville, was arrested and charged with allegedly assaulting on a member of his family. That person was transported to Fauquier Hospital for possible injuries incurred during the fight and was later released. Mr. Koski is free on bond.
Robert Smith of Sperryville reported that a builder's transit, worth $500, is missing from his outbuilding. He believes it was taken on the evening of Nov. 17.
There have been many deer wrecks around the county recently. One of ‘them occurred last Wednesday evening on U.S. 522 in Sperryville, .4 mile south of Route 604. Thomas Klatko, 48, of Sperryville, was driving a 1985 2door Nissan when he swerved to avoid hitting a deer. According to State Trooper S.M. Knick's accident report, Mr. Klatko then lost control of his vehicle and ran off the road, skidded back across the highway, hit an embankment and overturned.
Mr. Klatko was wearing his seat belt and was not injured. His Nissan had $1,500 damage and no charges were placed in the accident.
Icy roads caused James Newkirk, 37, of Boston, to lose control of his 1994 Toyota pickup and run into trees on U.S. 522, .1 mile south of Route 604, in the late afternoon last Thursday.
His vehicle had $2,000 damage and he was uninjured. Trooper Knick investigated the accident, and no charges were placed.
Last Saturday evening 19-yearold Roger Ryan of Culpeper totalled a 1995 2-door Toyota in an accident on U.S. 211, .1 mile west of Route 730 in Amissville.
According to Trooper C.M. Crummett's report, Mr. Ryan drove to avoid hitting a dog, hit an embankment and rolled over. He was not injured, but he was charged with reckless driving.
