Last week's problem was caused! ’ by a faulty electrical relay switch. It' * • was replaced. This Tuesday two other' \ electrical relay switches were also replaced. Dr. Gangel said the administration also is planning to install a system to give an early warning when the water level in the large holding tank is dropping, £ situation that might lead to loss of pressure. He is also planning to put a filter on an air intake to the 5,000- gallon holding tank.
On Monday a note went to parents of students in the high school indicat-' ing that water there tested positive for bacteria in November and December. • The system was'chlorinated. January tests for bacteria were negative. However, the school posted notices of the positive test results and provide, bottled water there as well. Treatment with chlorine will continue.
In the letter that went home to high school parents, Dr. Gangel indicated he will include funds for routine chlorination of the water systems at both schools in the budget for the' upcoming school year.
He said that the school administration is following all guidelines of the Office of Water Programs in the Department of Health. In fact, the school system is going beyond those requirements, he said.
