tie. Then chop and saute two large onions, add to mixture. Then brown 3 pounds of ground beef, drain all grease off and put in with tomato mixture. Add 2 teaspoons of chili powder, pinch of sugar in with tomatoes. Let simmer in crockery kettle for a while, then add two regular size cans of kidney beans. More chili powder may be added or just put on table. Freezes well.
Chili is excellent to serve on cold, "Wintery” days with a side salad or whatever your family enjoys. To top the meal off we had desserts galore at church.
A couple of week's ago I received a recipe for a pound cake from the Virginia Egg Council. It is delicious, served plain or with fresh strawberries or with you favorite topping. According to the article I received from them the Council had recently prepared and served 1,000 slices of this, topped with strawberries and whipped cream, to executives for an annual banquet. Perhaps next time, we will have this at a chili gathering. It is
