Hazel-Zinn Day has been involved in 4-H programs nearly all her life.
She was recently hired as the Extension Technician for 4-H Youth, a part-time position in the county Extension Office, coordinating 4-H projects as Helen Smith did before she left her job here last faN.
Mrs. Zinn-Day was in 4-H throughout her youth, and later on she helped with fund-raising for the 4-H Center in Front Royal. She has been volunteering with 4-H programs in Rappahannock since 1986 and started the Cloverbud group here.
Cloverbuds are non-competitive 4-Hers aged 5 to 8, and her two daughters have been very active in the group. Mrs. Zinn-Day is also an All-Star, which is the highest honor in 4-H. All-Stars even have a secret handshake.
Mrs. Zinn-Day is very enthusiastic about the new position which gets her even more involved in 4-H programs than she previously was. She is looking forward to 4-H camps, and said "I love camp. There is nothing better than 4-H camp."
Last week she was reminiscing about the 4-H camp that she attended in Appomattox as a child and compared that camp to the one her campers now attend in Front Royal. The new one has air-conditioning
