Morgan is researching the effects of presentation on information retention.

On Wednesday. Feb. 5, students will set up their displays in the RCES Multipurpose Room. The fourth grade display^ their projects. Students in grades 5 through 8 will compete as individuals within the Junior Division. Students from grades 9 through 12 enter the Senior Division competition.

Local winners will receive plaques, ribbons and invitations to the Piedmont Regional Science Fair to be held in Charlottesville on March 11. Senior Division winners at Charlottesville continue on to the State Science Fair and possibly even to the International Science Fair.

Across the country, science fairs provide opportunities for students to actually do science themselves, and to show off their achievements. Awards will be presented to winning students on Friday afternoon.

In the event of bad weather, the science fair will be held on Feb. 13 and 14. Check the Rappahannock schools' voice mail at 987-9316.
