in April, Poetry Slam competitions will begin on Tuesday, after the open reading with open reading at 8 p.m. and the slam competition starting at 9:30 p.m.
On the first Tuesday of every month, beginning at 8 p.m. Feb. 4, poets and others will gather at Mighty Fine Pub to read and listen to original poetry. Mighty Fine Pub/Seafood has decided to lead the valley into the future of original poetry and to serve as host to the evolution of Front Royal’s own Slam Team, but first the effort needs poets and people who like to hear poetry and see it performed and laugh outloud.
Poets who want to read their own poetry should contact Gary Wood at Peace Mill Press at 636-9426. Those who just want to listen should show up at 8 p.m. on Feb. 4.
