Matt Marlor is in his first year of firefighting classes. In last week's hazmat test at Piedmont, he/was unable to participate due to a foot injury, but he videotaped the many hours of practical testing, which all took place outdoors.
Matt, a tenth-grader who lives in Boston, plans on joining Salem Fire and Rescue when he turns 16 in March. He said that Salem runs many calls in Rappahannock since they are near the county line. He also hopes to make a career of it.
