The Girl Scout’s Mother-Daughter Tea and Fly-Up ceremony was held on Saturday, May 17 at the Sperryville Fire Hall.
Opening Flag ceremony was presented by Amanda Brown Senior troop 380 as the caller and Jessica Estes and Brittany Smith of Jr. Troop 2021 were the flag carriers.
Prayers and dedication was offered by Sarah Brown, leader of Troop 380.
The 1 Mother-Daughter tea was dedicated to the memory of Mary Beth Williams although Mary Beth was not a girl scout, she was a daughter and all parents are grieving the loss of such a lovely daughter.
Sally Havstad, leader and Service Unit Chairperson acted as hostess of the occasion.
Daisy Troop 2031 bridged over to the awaiting Brownie Troops 402 and 920. Sandra Anthony’s Brownie Troop 920 were greeted by Junior Troops 2021 and 2022 with leaders, Ginger Estes and Deborah Mills.
All Rappahannock Area Leaders then welcomed Kylene Wolf, Dawn Havstad and Fran Overdorf, graduating seniors into Adult Girl Scouting.
The girls were presented roses by their leaders, Sally Havstad and Liols Wolf.
About 60 girl scouts, leaders, parents and friends enjoyed the evening with punch and desserts.
The Rappahannock Area Girl Scouts are under the Virginia Skyline Girl Scout Council.
