Times-Democrat, which I usually read after reading The Rappahannock News. Last week, I felt a strong sense of deja vu when reading the Times-Democrat, because I had already read much of it in The Rappahannock News. Clearly, 1 don't need to subscribe to both these 1 papers if they are going to become mir‘ ror images of each other. The people of Rappahannock ' county need and deserve a newspaper " of their own. Local news is the only ’ journalistic reason for the existence of ' The Rappahannock News. I hope the editors of our local newspaper, and ' their corporate overseers in Warrenton ’ or Leesburg or wherever, will bear that in mind in the future. The people of this 1 county depend on The Rappahannock 1 News and will be very poorly served if it becomes merely the weak link in a 1 corporate newspaper chain. ’ JAMES P. GANNON Castleton
