Ninety-seven students chose golf and 79 girls’ baskgtball, as fell sports, and there were only 10 students choosing football. Tupper said there are 140 sports events from winter to spring with one-half held away. Transportation is going to be a problem if more sports are added. He hopes to come up with recommendations by the next meeting.
The girls’basketball may be moved to the winter since it is a Title 9 issue, T\ipper said. Gangel added it will probably happen because of a pendipg lawsuit which is “indefensible1’ because larger schools in the AAA league have already moved girls’ basketball to the winter season. ’
Toll said if more programs are added, a position of assistant athletic director may be necessary. . j
