The 1997 annual House Tour and Dried Flower sale, this year in its forty first year, was again an unqualified success despite rains that threatened on Saturday.
In fact, according to one of the coordinators of the event, Charlotte Nichols, the crowds were larger on Saturday than on Sunday, when the weather cooperated.
She attributes this to the phenomenon surrounding the dried flower arrangements. She said people line up on Saturday morning outside Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington, Va. to be the first to get in and purchase them. Those arrangements are hand made originals created by volunteers who spend countless hours in the preparation.
Their efforts do not go unappreciated. The flowers this year sold very well and they only have a few left for purchase. Anyone still interested in getting an arrange
