The Rappahannock Jaycee Chapter is seeking use toys which can be reconditioned, mended, painted, etc., for distribution at Christmas. An annual project of the Jaycees is fixing Christmas boxes for needy families which include food, clothing and toys.
The annual awards dinner sponsored by the Culpeper Soil Conservation District was held Wednesday night at Graves Lodge, Syria. J. Clifford Miller Jr., owner of Mt. Vernon Stock Farm, Sperryville, was recognized as Rappahannock Conservation Farmer of the Year. Miller resides in Richmond and his farm is managed by Edwin Scroggins.
Adult classes in basic education are scheduled to begin Monday, Oct. 23 at Rappahannock County High School.

Rappahannock County Farm Bureau will hold its annual membership meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 24. The group will convene at 7;30 p.m. at the courthouse in Washington, Va.
