Randy, Kady, and I went to my aunt’s home in Strasburg Saturday to witness the making of some good old fashioned apple butter. After taking the scenic route because we couldn’t agree on the directions,we managed to arrive just as the last few jars were being sealed and the copper pot was being washed. At least we were able to visit with my Aunt Polly and Uncle Mick Burkholder, my Aunt Margaret and Uncle Charles Robertson in from Florida, my Aunt Patsy and Uncle Cal Fisher in from North Carolina, my Aunt Fran Moore from Manassas, and my parents, Betty and Denzil Canfield. Next year we’ll leave a little bit earlier...
