We spread our lunch upon the clearing near the cemetery and after grace offered by Mr. Bailey, ate sumptuously. Several of the brave hearted made the hike down to the old homesite.
After leaving the cemetery, I’d promised Mrs. Gore a tour of the Gore places I knew. First stopping in Gid Brown Hollow at the old William and Margaret Gore Partlow place (lately the home of Mrs. Janie Beahm). Next, the graves of William T. and Sarah Gore near the Snead home. We next crossed Route 623 over to 622 and taking a left, viewed the old John R. and Lillie Partlow Gore home, now owned by their grandson. Further up the route to S.A. Beahm’s
