The Rappahannock Farmers’ Association was formed for the purpose of the preservation of farm land, promoting the economic viability of. agriculture, and encouraging development compatible with farming. The RFA also strives to bring together citizens of our county who are interested in and/or involved actively in all aspects of agriculturally based enterprises, either on a full time or a part time basis.

Basically, the RFA wants to maintain the beauty of Rappahannock County by maintaining the existing farming community. The association likes a clean and beautiful county.

In 1995, the Virginia General Assembly, and the governor, signed the Agricultural Stewardship Act. The act has a good sounding name — stewardship — and
