Developers could cover the county with houses and townhouses and stores and malls and shopping centers. These people could not only pollute the water, but they could and would pollute the land and air — but it would not be “agriculture pollution,” so it wouldn’t be covered by the “stewardship act.” It would be a tragedy to make Rappahannock an extension of Fairfax County, a bedroom community of Fairfax and Washington, D C.
The RFA wants to protect what we have now. We want clean water as we want clean land, air, etc. We feel that this law must be changed, not killed, but changed.
